Two Charged Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
