Tragic Find: Remains of Missing Mum and Daughter Located in Freezers in the Alpine Nation

The bodies of a 34-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter have been discovered inside freezers in an residence in the western part of Austria.

The deceased, a woman from Syria and her daughter, who had been missing for several months, were detected on Friday. The freezers were concealed behind a drywall partition in the apartment, located in the Innsbruck area.

A pair of males, a Austrian man, 55 and his brother aged 53, were arrested in June. The 55-year-old, a colleague of the Syrian woman, stated to authorities last week that there had been an accident—but disputed intentional killing.

Addressing reporters previously, a representative for the state prosecutor said the two suspects were being held on "serious suspicion of murder".

The male siblings took out the appliance from the storage space on the day the victims went missing, Tersch revealed. And a seven days after, they purchased another freezer.

Officials believe they consider this indicates the deaths were premeditated.

"The cause of death was not identifiable due to the state of decomposition of the remains," she said.
