Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a online announcement.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.

This incident does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical problem.
