Loyal followers of the pop star are urging that a individual who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was set to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed includes clips of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last winter.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote one more message on Instagram.

Several fans also questioned event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
