Loyal followers of the pop star are urging that a individual who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was set to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.
