David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
