Barcelona to Host Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
